How do tastings & consultations work?

Cake tastings & consultations are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We do not carry pre-made tastings to walk in and sample at any given moment. We bake and prepare each tasting per order; tailoring each cake, buttercream, and filling flavor to the customer’s specific tastes. Payment is required up-front in order to confirm & lock-in your tasting pick-up!

Included in our tasting boxes are cupcakes, buttercream, and optional fillings of your choosing (as well as utensils, napkins, and plates). We encourage mixing-and-matching all of the above to try as many combinations as possible! Please refer to our flavor menu for all of the cake, buttercream, and filling options we offer! You can even scroll down to see a list of suggestions for popular cake & filling pairings (according to both customers and our staff!) (Note: Seasonal cake flavors & fillings only available by request and/or pending availability.) If you find that our selection is too daunting & there are simply too many options to choose from, just give us an idea of your general flavor preferences and allow us to create a custom tasting menu for you!

Note: Post-COVID, we no longer accommodate sit-down tastings/consultations — we now strictly offer pick-up tasting boxes for you to take home & sample. (Tastings can be picked up Tuesday - Friday between 11AM - 4PM, and Saturdays between 10:30AM - 2PM.)

If needed, after you have picked up and sampled your tasting, you have the option of requesting a scheduled phone consultation with the owner/lead designer (or video call if needed). This is helpful if your cake/desserts require further discussion about specific details or designs.

Phone meetings average between 20 minutes to 45 minutes during which we dedicate our time to getting to know you, your vision, and the details of your event — as well as discuss any inspiration photos or swatches that you may want us to reference. A formal contract proposal & invoice will then be sent out within a few days of your phone consultation. A 50% deposit (paid in advance online) is required to lock in your event date. A deposit however does not lock in the details of your order; we allow our clients to make changes and revisions as needed over the course of their planning. Remaining details and balance are due no more than 2 weeks before your scheduled event date.
