How do tastings & consultations work?

Cake tastings & consultations are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We do not carry pre-made tastings to walk in and sample at any given moment. We bake and prepare each tasting per order, tailoring each cake, buttercream, and filling flavor to the customer’s specific tastes. Flavor selection & payment are required to lock in your appointment date.

NOTE: Our pick-up tasting presentation has been recently changed and now comes as deconstructed cupcakes packaged separately with additional buttercream flavors and (optional) additional fillings on the side in individually labeled ramekins. We find that this makes it easier on our guests to truly “Mix and Match” and discover their favorite flavor combinations.

NOTE: We no longer accommodate sit-down tastings but schedule our pick-up tastings for you to sample at home with friends and family on Tuesdays-Fridays 11AM-4PM and Saturdays 10:30AM-2PM .

You can even scroll down to see a mix-and-match list of suggestions for cake and filling pairings (according to both customers and our staff!).If you find that there are just so many options and such a task is too daunting for you - just give us an idea of your general flavor preferences and allow us to create a custom tasting menu for you!

Design & Planning Consultations are then scheduled via a phone or zoom meeting.

In most cases after your pick up tasting we will schedule a phone consultation. Phone meetings average between 20 minutes to 45 minutes during which the owner/lead designer dedicates her time to getting to know you, your vision, and the details of your event; as well as discuss any inspiration photos or swatches that you may have sent along. A formal contract pricing proposal will then be sent out within a few days of your phone consultation. A 50% deposit (easily made online via cc) is required to lock in your event date. A deposit however does not lock in the details as we allow our clients to make changes and revisions as needed over the course of their planning. Remaining details and balance are due 2 weeks before your scheduled event date.
